Halcian Joseph-Clost
Halcian Joseph-Clost along with her husband Richard Clost, founded Women Speak Up in 2019 as a forum for women to develop their voices, connect, share and learn from each other and to step forward to achieve their dreams. Halcian is also the President and co-owner of Edwards Joseph Consulting, an event planning and management consulting company, located in Ottawa, Ontario.
She is originally from Trinidad and Tobago and is passionate about women's issues, entrepreneurship, dance, and community development. She has extensive project and program management experience obtained through over 20 years working in government in Canada and internationally in London, England and Trinidad and Tobago. Her areas of expertise are in the field of management, i.e. human resource management, performance measurement, event planning, strategic planning and organizational development.
Halcian is also a Christian minister at Shiloh Holiness church in Ottawa. A connector of people and a community builder with experience working with children, youth and women. Halcian is a member of the Board of Directors of the Errol Matthias Joseph Science Scholarship Fund, located in Trinidad and Tobago, which was established in memory of her uncle, Errol Matthias Joseph, a former science teacher. The fund advances science awareness and education amongst youth in rural areas of south of Trinidad.
